Notes Area
Certified Export Quality Frozen Semen means that the highest standard of bio-security was attained under international guidelines for blood tests in a USDA licensed quarantine stud; the Sire's semen was collected; checked for mobility at 90% minimum; portioned out at .5 cc's and loaded into a 18" clear polycarbonate straw - then  flash frozen.

After two days in a cryogenic state (below −150 °C, −238 °F or 123 K) a sample straw was thawed of that batch; then evaluated for mobility again.

If the mobility standards are not met, it is tossed out and the process retraced on the next collection day.

Most semen available is not so certified, and the buyer risks not having the high level of potency required for success.

Standard non-Certified Breeding Soundness evaluation (BSe). The American Society for Theriogenology has developed minimum guidelines for a bull to pass a breeding soundness evaluation. A breeding soundness evaluation includes a physical examination, the measurement of scrotal circumference, and an evaluation of semen quality.

To successfully complete a breeding soundness evaluation, a bull must have at least 30% sperm motility, 70% normal sperm morphology, and a minimum scrotal circumference based on age (table 1; Chenoweth et al. 1992). Bulls meeting the preceding minimum requirements are classified as satisfactory potential breeders.

Consider the difference, the quality.
